Here's How Much Water You Actually Need To Drink For Weight Loss



Everyone's heard that water can help you lose weight, right?
 Have you ever wondered if it's true or just an old wives' tale? Some researchers from Nutrition Sciences at the Berlin School of Public Health, Charite University Hospital decided to find out! They took a closer look at 11 different studies and not only discovered a link.....they found out exactly how much water you need to drink for it to work. 

One study found that people who drank two cups of water before eating a meal lost more weight than people who didn't (on average, 4 pounds more!). 
 
Another study showed that people who drank at least one liter per day--a little less than the recommended eight glasses--lost more weight than those who didn't.

None of the studies explained WHY it works, but one theory is that water helps keep hunger pains to a minimum by keeping your stomach full, but there could also be another possibility: Water-induced thermogenesis, a process where drinking water makes you more energetic and, therefore, burn more calories overall.

Drinking water to lose weight
I'm going to try this out this week after 3 weeks of eating my way through France and the UK. I need to lose a few pounds...on top of the lbs I needed to lose BEFORE vacation!!

Let's not forget that just drinking water alone does not shed the pounds, a healthy diet and exercise of 30 min a day 3-5 times a week will push those pounds off. I recommend "crossfit" it does WONDERS! Erin
